I'm so sorry it took this long to update. I went in and the sonographer took me back to the room because my husband was running behind. There are a couple of them and of course we got "talky talkerson". She proceeded to tell me a story about how a lady came in without her husband last week and she had to tell her that her baby had died. WTF are you really telling me that story now? About that time my husband got there. She looked at baby A first and his heart was flickering away, then she went off on some other story. I wanted to shake her and tell her to get to baby B. I actually did cut her off at one point and asked nicely to move on. His heart was flickering away as well. Both of their fluids looked good and then she measured my cervix. Her actual response was, oh.. I don't like how that looks and then started to look at something else. I asked her politely what she meant and she explained, " I just hate how measurements of the cervix can look like this from above but I'm going to do a vaginal u/s too". WTF?? Stop freaking me out. My cervix measured 3.8 and that is what it was a month ago so everyone was happy.
I went to the waiting room after that and waited on Dr. S. I had to wait a while since they had fit me in for the day. He said that my cervix felt fine as well. He was still a little concerned about the contractions so he prescribed me a medication to relax my uterus. I was instructed to go home, take the medicine and be on bed rest the remainder of the day. He also told me that I need to cut back my hours at work. I have a desk job but he said that resting at home is a lot different then being in front of a computer and having to deal with patient issues. So cutting back is going to happen. I am going to cut from 40hrs/week to probably 30 or 32. I think he wanted me to do more but I have to have at least 30 hours to keep my insurance. I have let my boss, who is also one of my closest friends know that I need to cut back and that while I'm here I can't be running around. She understands but I hope that everyone else understands as well.
I'm hoping that the boys got the memo to stay put for a while. Thank you for all of your prayers and good thoughts yesterday. I needed them...
Oh man, so happy to read this. SO glad to hear that both babies are doing well. Get some rest, pretty mama!
