First OB/GYN appointment

I arrived 10 minutes early as instructed, and then we waited around an hour to be led back to the room. As I had said in my last post there was no u/s scheduled but when we walked in the exam room I saw one sitting there. To say I got excited would be an understatement. My husband reminded me that it could just be there and not for me. I kept the faith that it was!

The doctor came in and he was super nice and very detailed with information. And halfway through his talk he said that he would be doing a quick u/s just to make sure the twins were still doing great!! Whew.  He left and I disrobed. I told my husband that they would be doing a pap smear and breast exam as well. He asked if I wanted him to leave and of course I said no way. Besides he is going to end up seeing a lot before it is all over. It was so cute.. He said that he would just look down. LOL. I told him he has seen me naked so it really wasn't a problem. The doctor cleaned out a bunch of the left over Crinone junk too so that was a plus, but yuck.

As for the ultrasound. Everything looked great! I started to tear up at one point because both of the babies were wiggling around and we had never seen them move before. We didn't get to hear the heartbeats but we got to see them on the screen. I am going to do my best to relax. Plus the doctor said that we would be doing a lot of ultrasounds due to it being twins. He was going to schedule my next appointment in three weeks.. I must have made a noise and given him a look because he looked at me and asked if I would rather do two weeks. My husband answered and said that three would be fine..  The doctor looked at me again and said "let's switch it to two" and smiled. So I will go back on 1/16 and they will be doing an actual ultrasound. I guess they have a big set up in a separate room so I am pretty pumped to experience that and hear the heartbeats again. Thank you for all of your comments on my last scardy cat post. I am going to stay positive moving forward!

Without further ado, here are the twins! I am 10 weeks 5 days. One measures 10 weeks 2 days and the other is 10 weeks 1 day. The doctor said that was right on track! (There is no more post after the picture if you choose not to look.)

  6. Congrats they are beautiful! That's great news about the additional u/s'. I think it's perfectly normal for us infertiles to be over anxious. I'm glad that you'll have additional opportunities for reassurance and to see your little ones!

  12. Oh, so you’ve having twins? Congratulations! How far along are you now? I hope you and the babies are well and healthy. You are right, don’t overthink everything. It seems like you are in very capable hands anyways. Can’t wait to meet your babies. =) Elli @ Centennial OB-Gyn, P.A.
