Yesterday

I'm so sorry it took this long to update. I went in and the sonographer took me back to the room because my husband was running behind. There are a couple of them and of course we got "talky talkerson". She proceeded to tell me a story about how a lady came in without her husband last week and she had to tell her that her baby had died. WTF are you really telling me that story now? About that time my husband got there. She looked at baby A first and his heart was flickering away, then she went off on some other story. I wanted to shake her and tell her to get to baby B. I actually did cut her off at one point and asked nicely to move on. His heart was flickering away as well. Both of their fluids looked good and then she measured my cervix. Her actual response was, oh.. I don't like how that looks and then started to look at something else. I asked her politely what she meant and she explained, " I just hate how measurements of the cervix can look like this from above but I'm going to do a vaginal u/s too". WTF?? Stop freaking me out. My cervix measured 3.8 and that is what it was a month ago so everyone was happy.

I went to the waiting room after that and waited on Dr. S. I had to wait a while since they had fit me in for the day. He said that my cervix felt fine as well. He was still a little concerned about the contractions so he prescribed me a medication to relax my uterus. I was instructed to go home, take the medicine and be on bed rest the remainder of the day. He also told me that I need to cut back my hours at work. I have a desk job but he said that resting at home is a lot different then being in front of a computer and having to deal with patient issues. So cutting back is going to happen. I am going to cut from 40hrs/week to probably 30 or 32. I think he wanted me to do more but I have to have at least 30 hours to keep my insurance. I have let my boss, who is also one of my closest friends know that I need to cut back and that while I'm here I can't be running around. She understands but I hope that everyone else understands as well.

I'm hoping that the boys got the memo to stay put for a while. Thank you for all of your prayers and good thoughts yesterday. I needed them...

Braxton Hicks?

From 8-10pm I was having uterine tightening every 5-10 minutes. They continued more spaced out throughout the night. I have been drinking a lot of water and emptying my bladder to help. My doctor wants me to come in at 10:30 central time for an ultrasound. Prayers would be appreciated. I am hoping that it is nothing, and just another blip on this road to beat infertility.

22 weeks

22 weeks. I don't want to wish this pregnancy away, but I sure wish it was 32 weeks. :) Bump shot has been updated in tab.

How far along? 22 weeks and counting!

Total Weight gain: I think still around 26lbs but I haven't weighed this week

Maternity clothes: For sure and my mediums are getting smmmmaalll.

Stretch marks: Not yet

Sleep: Nope. I only get up to pee once or twice but the hip and groin pain wake me up and so I am alway rolling over. It will be worth it though!

Best moment of the week: Feeling their movement get stronger. I thank God with every little flutter and kick. Baby A is breech so his kicks are aimed at my girl parts and bottom. Talk about a jolt! :) Baby B's movement is stronger for sure and scare me sometimes. That is the kind of fear I will take.

Miss anything: Not really, every day is a miracle. But I guess that I do miss sharing a bed with my husband. My tossing and turning isn't getting any better so he has been camped on the couch. :(

Belly button in or out: In

Looking forward to: April 2nd which is our next big scan and April 5th which is our first baby shower.

21 weeks

Today I am 21 weeks. And to celebrate I felt both babies kicking away this morning around 6:30! I feel baby B from time to time because his placenta is on the side, but baby A's placenta is on the front so his movement has been muted. But this morning it was back and forth from both sides of my belly. I am wondering if baby A isn't breach anymore? I just laid there and smiled in the dark. I am so ready to feel them more and more to let me know that they are healthy and growing. We cheat a little and do the weekly bump shots the day before on Sunday because I am already dressed for church (in tab). So don't worry, we have our green on today! I have my bi-weekly appointment with my OB today and he always does a quick ultrasound in the exam room so I'm pretty pumped to see them today. I am also praying that my cervix is still in tip top shape! Our next big ultrasound with the MFM is on April 2nd to get a good shot of my cervix and to see the babies again. I am praying that baby A's Choroid Plexus Cyst has closed as well so that I can stop thinking about it. (even though they told us it was nothing to worry about). Happy Monday everyone!

I have two nanners growing inside of me!!

How far along? 21 weeks

Total weight gain: 26lbs since pregnant - 36lbs since IVF meds

Maternity clothes: Um, yes... except for a few shirts that I can put over a maternity tank. My poor non maternity green shirt is getting stretched to its limit today.

Stretch marks: Not yet - but I'm super itchy today so I'm thinking that I need to lube up more.

Sleep: Last night was the first good sleep that I have had in a while. I only woke up once to go to the bathroom and the other times I kind of woke I went right back to sleep. I am hoping for another night like that tonight. My hips have been in so much pain at night that it wakes me up. I am using a maternity pillow but I don't think that it really helps much.

Best moment of the week: Feeling the babies move more. I am able to feel the occasional outside kick but whenever my husband comes over to feel they are done. Hoping for more the next few weeks!

Miss anything: Sleep... Oh and I am actually missing sex with my husband. The doctor cut us off at 20 weeks. We can't do anything.. Well, ahem.. I could do something for him but nothing for me. :)

Belly button in or out: In but strrrrreeeetttttcccchhhhiiiinnnggg

Looking forward to: Another level 2 ultrasound on April 2nd. The screen is SO clear and I could stare at them for hours!!

20 weeks

I am halfway there! Well technically I am over halfway since it is a twin pregnancy but either way I am so happy to be here. I am up 20lbs which per the twin guidelines I am right on schedule and I am hoping to be up 60-70lbs by the end of my pregnancy. I want some big healthy babies! My boobs decided to get pregnant with the rest of me this past week as well, haha. My bump page/tab has been updated so you can see my progress!

Two small cantaloupes

How far along? 20 weeks

Total weight gain: Well, if we are counting from when I got pregnant and not before the stims then I have gained 20lbs. Wowzer. :)

Maternity clothes: Yes, except for a few shirts that are almost too short and for a few dresses that stretch.

Stretch marks? No, not yet. I keep putting on the Palmers and Bio-Oil to keep them at bay.

Sleep: I wake up at least four times a night to either pee or readjust because of back, knee or hip pain. But I usually can fall back to sleep pretty easy.

Best moment of the week: Our level 2 ultrasound. The babies are healthy and I loved watching them on the screen for so long. At one point they were kicking and punching each other. I guess they are already fighting to see who will be the Alpha baby. AND I felt baby B kick from the outside for the first time. Baby A's placenta is in the front so I don't feel him as much.

Miss anything? Nothing... except maybe really hot baths.

Belly button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? My wedding band is on my right hand now and my engagement ring is on the left.

Looking forward to: I am looking forward getting the nursery painted and buying the cribs. Oh, and I am starting their quilts this week.

Excitement for a friend!

Please go leave my friend a big congratulations. After years of struggling she has some beautiful news to celebrate. I am SO excited for her and her husband. SO EXCITED.

Level 2 U/S 19w2d

All of their organs looked great the NT fold was a good measurement and they were right on track size wise as well. Baby A however has a choroid plexus cyst in his brain where the spinal fluid is made. It isn't actually a cyst it is just a gap that hasn't closed. They told us that 95% of these close on their own but it doesn't impair brain function if it doesn't. They would be more concerned if our blood work for Trisomy 21 had come back positive. The blood work could not test for Trisomy 18 because it is a twin pregnancy. Since all of the other measurements came back on track she said there was nothing to worry about but they have to tell us because it was there. We go back in a month for another big ultrasound to look at the boys and monitor my cervix but I will continue to see my OB every two weeks. Oh, my cervix looked great BTW. Whew.

They are still 100% boy and baby B was the one really showing off this time. The u/s tech said WOW he sure is a boy. hahaha. When we were leaving my husband said it was so impressive because it was morning time. You know... morning wood. Oh my husband is a funny one.

I have posted a few of the U/S pictures in the tab for your viewing pleasure. Of course if you are not in a good place I understand, and you need to take care of yourself first.

19 weeks

Our level two ultrasound is this Wednesday!! I am so excited to stare at the boys for an hour and soak in every little measurement. Again I am thankful for another week. My bump shot is updated in the tab. Week 17-18 I saw a big bump growth, but not as much from 18-19. I am continuing to attempt the 2,600-3,000 calories a day but man...it's hard. However I will do whatever I have to in order to grow us some big babies!!

19 weeks: Two little heirloom tomatoes

Miss anything? A good nights sleep and being able to move around for longer periods of time. But I wouldn't trade this for anything..

Movement: Still just the occasional flutters

Food craving: Bread and butter pickles with cheese-its, corn dogs and trail mix

Anything make you queasy or sick? I get a little queasy if I don't eat every couple of hours but other than that I am doing great

Gender: TWO BOYS!

Labor signs: NO!

Symptoms: Nasal congestion, lower back pain, hip pain and some round ligament pain from time to time.

Looking forward to: This Wednesday!! It's our level 2 ultrasound. And I'm still ready for my husband and I to feel some good strong movement. I am also ready for this season of lent and taking more time to reflect on Christ and his teachings. I love lent and Easter.

I will update you after the appointment on Wednesday!!!
